  1. OOPS! INSUFFICIENT HARDWARE TO CONTINUE

  3. I'm sorry to say that you cannot install NOS onto
  4. anything less than a hard disk.  Some NOS versions
  5. can be modified to run in a limited form from floppy
  6. disk but this installation program is not written
  7. with such limited installations in mind.

  9. The minimum hard disk drive capacity required is 10
  10. megabytes.  NOS itself takes very little but
  11. requires reasonable disk access to store and
  12. retrieve temporary files etc.

  14. I do know of people who use poorly configured
  15. systems but they certainly don't get the full
  16. enjoyment from the hobby because their computers
  17. cannot cope.  They are always the ones who are not
  18. impressed with TCP/IP!

  20. This is one side of the hobby that requires some
  21. investment.  You can't do it on a shoestring...
  22. Well, maybe two but not one! hi...

  24. Contact me if you really need a NOS that is floppy
  25. based.  Send an S.A.E. with a formatted floppy disk,
  26. with all the details that you would need to fill in
  27. the installation screen and I'll produce a NOS disk
  28. for you.  I'd hate to see anyone go without just
  29. because they couldn't afford a hard disk.
